To ensure every dog has a place to land—when shelters are full, when rescues are overwhelmed, when hope is fading. Gunny’s House is a forever-safe space where dogs can decompress, run, heal, and—if they’re lucky—find a new family. If not, they’ll have one with us.
Providing land-based decompression and lifetime care for dogs that need temporary or permanent placement when no other option exists.
Gunny’s House is in love of our 2 beloved dogs – Gus & Penny. Both rescue dogs on limited time frames.
Gus was taken from his mom so young, and had a slew of health issues. At one of his many doctors appointments when he was little, we talked about how amazing it would be to get 10 years from him. We did plus a little extra. Once you were in his inter circle, he loves you fiercely and forever. His big bark turning into non-stop licks when he recognized you. And if he requested you to hold his paw-consider yourself top 5. He never meet a treat he didn’t like, loved to lay in the sun and his head title will live in infamy. Sweet Gooser loved the kids to the moon & back. He was already ready for a hug or backpat from them.
Penny came in like a fire cracker – ready to run the show! She always was willing to play and play hard. She would let another dog know if she wasnt interested in her own way. She loves the sun & belly rubs. She was obsessed with the same toy, a space ship, that we bought multiple of them off Ebay at one point to always have a stock pile. She never meet a blue berry she didnt like and at 10 can run & jump like a puppy.
